Johnny Depp is an American actor, producer, and musician. He was born on June 9, 1963, in Owensboro, Kentucky, and grew up in Florida. He is known for his versatility as an actor, having played a wide range of characters in both independent and mainstream films.


Depp began his career in the 1980s with small roles in films such as "Platoon" and "A Nightmare on Elm Street". He gained wider recognition in the 1990s for his leading roles in "Edward Scissorhands", "Benny and Joon", and "What's Eating Gilbert Grape". He became a global superstar in the 2000s with his portrayal of Captain Jack Sparrow in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise.
